New foodstore in north west Birmingham

Chris Creighton has obtained planning permission for a new Morrisons foodstore of 4,262 sq.m. gross at an out-of-centre location in Handsworth, north west Birmingham. The application raised issues with retail planning policy, potential loss of industrial land, regeneration, local employment partnership, urban design and sustainability. Chris was also involved in extensive community consultation. The new store will create 235 new jobs in an area of high unemployment, currently poorly served by supermarkets.
